IBM, VIDT Datalink Integrate Corona Safety Indicator Sensors – Product Release & Updates

IBM, VIDT Datalink Integrate Corona Safety Indicator Sensor

IBM, VIDT Datalink, and other project partners are excited to announce the use of a Corona Safety Indicator sensor which will help to identify poorly ventilated spaces where Covid-19 can thrive. These sensors will be integrated into their much-anticipated Internet of Environments project roll-out.

This indicator, manufactured by Factory Lab, will greatly help in the battle against Covid-19 by measuring the air quality in a room. The resulting data will pass through the VIDT Datalink Cloud in order to be anchored on the blockchain for data integrity purposes, and will then be passed on to the IBM Watson supercomputer for analysis.

The Internet of Environments  –  A recap

The Internet of Things(IoT) and the resulting Smart Cities fueled by data is a very near prospect indeed. One facet of Smart Cities is the environment that surrounds them. This environment needs to be as clean as possible in order to minimize any further environmental degradation and to keep citizens as healthy as possible.

The analysis of micro-dust, humidity, CO2-levels, and temperature will help to make our cities healthier places to live in. Problem trends can be tracked and nullified before they become issues.

So that’s why IBM got together with VIDT Datalink in order to measure, verify, and analyze data through the placing of sensors on rooftops so that the air quality could be measured for various pollutants. The first such sensor was placed on the roof of the IBM headquarters in the Netherlands.

How the system works is that data is regularly sent from the sensor and is passed through the VIDT Datalink architecture where it is anchored to the IBM Hyperledger and LTO Network blockchains.

This process proves that all data is pristine and untouched by any nefarious actors who may have a vested interest in manipulating the data for political or cost-saving ends. The IBM Watson supercomputer then analyzes the data, looking for patterns and trends which will help it to make accurate predictions.

A new sensor for inside buildings

Obviously, in these present times, Covid-19 is at the forefront of everyone’s minds. It is known that tiny droplets from the breath of an infected person hang in the air around them, which can propagate the disease. Therefore, a sensor that indicates just how ventilated a room is has an extremely important role to play in society’s fight against this disease.

Factory Lab is a leader in the field of data sensors for buildings and has manufactured a Corona Safety Indicator for use in inside spaces. The indicators can be clearly displayed in all rooms for everyone to see. Anyone wishing to know an up-to-the-minute measurement of the surrounding air quality in the room they are occupying can just scan a QR code and will immediately receive a simple 6-stage traffic light read-out.

Overall air quality information for all rooms in a building is also available on a clear-to-read online dashboard for the benefit of the building’s owner. Poor quality air measurements are reported and all data history is stored and can be analyzed at any time.

The Corona Safety Indicator sensors will be ideal for places such as government buildings, schools, offices, homes, and basically any space where people gather together.

The Corona Safety Indicator sensor can provide up-to-the-minute readings on a room's air quality.

The future for V-ID and the Internet of Environments

V-ID has Trivire as a client, which is a large home owner and rental company in southern Holland. V-ID currently protects the authenticity of all the Trivire documentation and audit reports. In addition, it is expected that Trivire will be the first company to have sensors installed across all their 14,000 properties in the city of Dordrecht.

With sensors both in and outside of buildings that will help to analyze pollutants, temperature, humidity and suchlike, this totally enveloping network of data-collecting instruments will dramatically aid cities and their governing authorities to monitor and reduce all factors injurious to health and the environment.

V-ID has successfully issued new smart contracts after the recent Kucoin hack, with B2B and B2C NFT functionality, as well as Binance Smart Chain compatibility  -  a real fillip to the team and their community. Also, some massive news sees them listed on Binance at last.

V-ID continue to make waves, whether that be by new client acquisitions, partnerships, or by improving on their tech. Once the sensors for the Internet of Environments project start being produced and installed, potentially massive amounts of data will need to be verified and protected. V-ID can only go onwards and upwards from here.
